UDHAMPUR, Mar 7: Udhampur Police arrested three drug peddlers in separate operations and established a backward link to a supplier in an ongoing NDPS case.
Rehambal Police arrested a suspect, identified as Rahul Sharma, son of Parmanand Sharma, resident of Sambal, Udhampur, leading to the recovery of 5.2 grams of heroin-like contraband along with a polypouch. In this regard, a case FIR No. 35/2025 has been registered at Police Station Rehambal under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
Another drug peddler, arrested by Udhampur Police, was identified as Pritam Kumar, son of Chuni Ram, resident of Omara Morh, Udhampur. A transparent plastic polypack containing heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 69/2025 has been registered at Police Station Udhampur under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
Meanwhile, backward link was established in NDPS case by Majalta Police in FIR No. 118/2024 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act. The accused, Bhag Hussain alias Baggu, son of Shumma Ali, resident of Garh Samnabanj, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur, has been identified as the supplier in this case.
Custody of the accused, previously lodged in District Jail Kathua in an NDPS case of Police Station Billawar, was obtained in the present case from the Additional Sessions Court, Kathua.
