KATRA, Feb 4: Police today arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered 12.97 grams of heroin from their possession.
The trio was travelling in a vehicle bearing Registration number JK02CG-8436, which was intercepted by a special team from Police Station Katra, led by SHO, Khyatimaan Khajuria at Bain Nallah near Nomain, Katra.
Upon frisking, 12.97 gms of heroin was recovered from the possession of accused persons, identified as Sahil Sharma, son of Yashpal, resident of Kanjali Manish Singh, son of Shamsher Singh of Kotli, Doda and Nirmal Singh, son of Daljeet Singh of Mandole, Kashtigarh, Doda.
All the three accused persons were arrested on the spot while the recovered heroin was seized. A case under FIR No. 32/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra, and an investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of this drug network.
Sharing the details, SSP Reasi, Paramvir Singh said that Reasi Police has adopted a multi-pronged strategy to combat drug menace, which includes launching an Anti-Drug Helpline – 9070907017, where informants’ identities are kept confidential.
