KATRA, Aug 22: Foiling two separate attempts of smuggling narcotic substance to holy town Katra, Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 1.4 Kg marijuana as well as 800 gms cannabis from the accused persons.
Reports said that a team of Police Station Katra intercepted one motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK02AQ-2886, which was on its way from Reasi towards Katra. During checking, 800 gms cannabis like substances from the possession of rider of the motorcycle namely Manzoor Ahmed son of Mohd Tuffail of Panthal, Tehsil Katra district Reasi.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 181/2021, under Section 8, 20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra.
In another success, team of Police Check Post Nomain intercepted one three- wheeler bearing Registration Number JK20A- 5501, which was on way from Domail towards Katra. During search, 1.4 kg of marijuana was recovered from the Auto-rickshaw. Police arrested driver of the Auto as well as the passenger, who disclosed their identity as Arjun Kapoor son of Ram Kapoor of Matyal Katra and Rohan Lal son of Roshan Lal of Bahu Parhi Jammu, at present Railway Station Katra.
In this regard, case FIR number 183/21, under section 8, 20, 25 NDPS ACT has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation into the case is going on.
