3 drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Apr 18: Police in Jammu District today arrested two women among three drug peddlers and recovered 70 grams of heroin from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu led by SDPO East Sayed Zaheer Abbas Jafari assisted by SHO Bagh-e-Bahu, Arti Thakur rounded up two suspects at Kalka Colony.
During their search, he said, 62 grams of heroin was recovered. The suspects were later identified as Pooja of Rajeev Nagar, Jammu and Lacho of Chugiya Guru Amar Dass Colony, Naraingarh, Amritsar, Punjab.
“The accused have been booked by police in case FIR number 45/2023 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and further investigation taken up,” he said.
Meanwhile, a team of Police Post Chattha led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Satwari, Inspector Sumeet Sharma and incharge Police Post Chattha, PSI Harjinder Paul Singh arrested a drug peddler near Peer Baba Chattha and recovered 8 grams of heroin from his possession.
The drug peddler has been identified as Paramjeet Singh @Shotu of Parbath Colony, Ward Number 5, Satwari.
He has been booked in case FIR number 71/2023 registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Satwari and further investigation started.
