3 drug peddlers held in Kulgam

Srinagar, June 18: Police in Kulgam today have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers from Police Station Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Bonigam Crossing intercepted three persons who on noticing the police party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert police party.
“They have been identified as Reshu Pal son of Kuldeep Singh resident of Pathankot, Javeed Ahmad Dar alias Jani son of Mohamad Shaban Dar resident of Bonigam and Arshid Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir resident of Beerwah Budgam. During checking, officers were able to recover 1 Kg of Poppy Straw, 50 grams of Heroin and 25 grams of Charas from their possession,” police said.
They have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and an investigation has been taken up.
