SAMBA, May 27: Continuing its drive against narcotics smugglers, police has arrested three drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered 15 grams of heroin from their possession.
A police party of Police Station, Bari Brahmana headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana during vehicle checking naka established near SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana, intercepted a swift car bearing Registration Number JK06B-9815 moving from Sarore Adda Bari Brahmana towards Jammu side for its checking. During checking, 15 grams approximately heroin was recovered from the possession of persons sitting in the car.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Mohammad Alyas, son of Mohammad Yaqoob of Khanyalkote Thannamandi district Rajouri, Lovneet Anand, son of Arun Anand of Rajouri and Tariq Hussain, son of Mohammad Abdullah Sheikh of Thatri Doda.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 66/2024 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana. Further investigation of the case is going on.
