3 drug peddlers taken into preventive custody, 4 arrested with heroin

JAMMU, July 27: Three notorious drug peddlers have been taken into preventive custody, while four others were arrested with heroin.
As per police sources, a number of complaints were received at Police Station Doda that three youth namely Umar Javed, son of Javed Iqbal of Doda, Muzamil Ahmed, son of Mujahid Ali of Sadiqabad Doda and Amjad Ali, son of Mubarak Ali of Sadiqabad Doda consume and supply drugs and are also getting involved other youth of the area in drug addiction.
Acting upon this alarming information, police team swung into action and a detailed report of their involvement in drug addiction as well as involving other youth was prepared by by PSI Subash Singh, Incharge Police Post District Hospital Doda apprehended the drug addicts and produced them before the Executive Magistrate Class 1st Doda, who sent them to District Jail Bhaderwah under preventive detention.
It is pertinent to mention here that Doda Police has registered 32 FIRs under NDPS Act in which 34 drug peddlers have been booked. Apart from that, 26 notorious drug peddlers have been detained in jail under preventive measures.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Sharma and assisted by PSI Devanshu Dutt under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta laid a naka at Daljeet Chowk and intercepted three persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 19 grams heroin from the possession of the persons and arrested them.
The accused were identified as Shamp Din alias Pappy, son of Makhan Din of Biaspur Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu, Aslam Choudhary alias Babbu, son of Imam Hussain of Chak Mohd Yar Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu and Narinder Singh alias Munna, son of Jagdish Singh of Satriyian Tehsil Suchetgarh District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 150/2022 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started.
However, a team from Police Post Jourian led by PSI Karnail Singh under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar and SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial laid a naka at Shunna area and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 2.5 grams heroin from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mohd Sharief, son of Mohd Mirza of village Juda Tehsil Arnas District Reasi, at present Bathera District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 219/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
