JAMMU, June 13: Police in Baramulla today booked 3 notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act while 3 others were booked under PSA for anti-national activities.
As per police, the 3 notorious drug smugglers have been identified as Gh Mohd Dar son of Ab Rehman Dar resident of Mirgund Pattan, Manzoor Ahmad Dar son of Assadullah Dar resident of Singhpora Pattan & Mohd Yaqoob Dar son of Gh Rasool Dar resident of Renji Pattan.
“They have been booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority & subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu.”
Police said that many cases are already registered against these drug smugglers and they were involved in promoting the drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Mirgund, Singhpora, Pattan, Renji and other areas of District Baramulla.
Moreover, 3 persons, who police identified as Mohd Ashraf Mir son of Assadullah Mir resident of Wussan Pattan, Mohd Yaseen Bhat son of Gh Mohi-udin resident of Tapper Pattan and Wasid Ashraf Sofi son of Mohd Ashraf Sofi resident of Watergam Wagoora have been booked under PSA.
“They were involved in anti-national activities and have been detained under Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority and subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur, Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu & District Jail Kathua respectively,” police said.
