SAMBA, Aug 28: In its ongoing efforts to weed out social crime from the society, Vijaypur police arrested three gamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 21,250 from their possession.
Acting on a specific information about gambling, a police party of Police Station (PS), Vijaypur headed by SHO, Inspector, Chaman Ghorkha under the supervision of SDPO, Vijaypur, Baljeet Singh raided the gambling spot at Railway Road, Vijaypur and arrested three gamblers along with stake money of Rs. 21,250 and playing cards.
The gamblers have been identified as Mohan Singh, S/o Balwant Singh of Najwal, Ramgarh, Rohit Kumar, S/o Darshan Lal of Ward No. 03, Vijaypur and Rahul Sharma, S/o Thoru Ram also of Ward No.03, Vijaypur.
Taking cognizance of the matter, all the gamblers were booked under Section 13 of Gambling Act at P/S Vijaypur.
