JAMMU, Oct 20: Janipur police today arrested three gamblers and recovered Rs 19,200 stake money from their possession.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Janipur Police Station led by SHO Niaz-ul-Hassan conducted a raid in a park at Janipur and arrested three gamblers red-handed.
The gamblers have been identified as Rajinder Singh, Sunny Kumar and Sanjeev Gupta, all residents of Janipur, he said, adding that Rs 19,200 stake money along with playing cards were recovered from the spot.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Janipur Police Station and investigation started.
