Srinagar, Mar 18: Bandipora Police today said to have arrested three gamblers from a gambling site and seized ¹ 15,020/- stake money.
Police in a statement said that a police party from PS Sumbal headed by SHO PS Sumbal under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal raided a gambling site at Shilwat Bundh following an input about gambling activities and apprehended three gamblers.
“They have been identified as Gh Rasool Guru resident of Naninara Sumbal, Hilal Ahmad Dar and Adil Ahmad Sofi both residents of Gund Roshan Ganderbal,” police said.
Officers have, police said, seized stake money of ¹ 15,020/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to Police Station Sumbal where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and an investigation has been initiated.
Police said that persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law while requesting the public to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
