SHOPIAN, Dec 11: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president, Amit Shah, today targeted Abdullahs’ saying that their three generations have ruined the State and his party and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is the last hope of every Kashmiri.
While addressing party rallies in Kashmir valley at Shopian and Rajbagh today, Shah asked Omar Abdullah what his three generations have done for the State of Jammu and Kashmir. “Your three generations are ruling J&K but what have you done for the people? Now the people have decided to reject you and choose BJP”, he said.
The BJP president said people of the State have given chance to all the parties to run the Governments in the State since Independence, who failed to develop it. “There are no hospitals, doctors, proper electricity and water supply”, he said.
Shah said that as all the parties have failed to come up to the expectations of the people of Kashmir, Modi and BJP are final hope for Kashmiris. “NC, PDP and Congress have failed in Jammu and Kashmir that is why the State people are committed to elect BJP this time. Modi and BJP are the final hope of every Kashmiri”, he said.
Addressing a rally at Rajbagh, the BJP leader sought votes for his party on developmental issues. “Now give BJP a chance for overall development of the State which has lacked in all fields when other States of the country have marched ahead”, he said.
“The BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections got an absolute majority, now it is your turn to give a similar mandate to the party in the State for overall development. I have been visiting Kashmir valley in the past. Today it is a special occasion to seek your cooperation and appeal to you to cast your votes in favour of BJP candidates”, said Shah.
The BJP leader accused the successive Governments in the State of indulging in loot of money which was sent by the Centre for development of the people. “New Delhi has been giving Rs 8000 crores to Jammu and Kashmir for development every year but it has gone into the pockets of State politicians, while nothing reaches to a common man,” Shah said while targeting the NC, Congress and PDP leaders.
Shah said that State Government failed to reach out to the flood victims of Kashmir and it was BJP which sent Rs 1700 crore for the relief of these victims. “PM Modiji himself celebrated Diwali here with flood affected people, which no other PM can do,” he said.
The BJP leader said that he felt over-whelmed with happiness after he saw lotus bloom in Kashmir and it brought tears of happiness in his eyes after landing in Kashmir. “It brought tears of happiness to my eyes to see lotus bloom in whole Kashmir valley. It was my heartfelt desire to see lotus blooming here”, he said.
Shah stopped his lecture midway when the prayer call was given from a nearby Masjid in Shopian.
Praising Kashmir natural beauty, its gushing waters and potential to attract world tourism, Shah said BJP has a plan to make Kashmir more attractive than Switzerland. “See your State politicians who prefer to visit England every year even though the people world over dream to visit Kashmir,” he said.
