JAMMU, Jan 4: Police tonight arrested three persons after they opened firing outside the house of second time BJP MLA from Suchetgarh Sham Choudhary at Digiana. However, no one was injured in the firing.
Reports said the miscreants opened firing as soon as the MLA boarded off his vehicle and was entering the house at Digiana around 11 pm. The miscreants were drunk at the time of firing.
After getting report, police officers including SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, SP City (South) Rahul Malik and SHO Gangyal Inspector Ajay Jamwal rushed to the spot. Police launched searches to nab the accused and apprehended three of them.
The gun used in the firing has also been seized, reports said, adding that police was investigating reasons behind the firing.
A case has been registered against the accused at Gangyal police station.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ghar Singh S/o Ranjeet Singh, Ranjeet Chowdhary S/o Jasveer Chowdhary, both residents of Digiana and Ranjeet Singh S/o Bachiter Singh R/o Sanjay Nagar. They have been booked under relevant sections of law.
