JAMMU, Dec 23: Three persons were arrested for smuggling bovines to Valley from Jhajjar Kotli.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AP-7317.
During checking, police rescued 18 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested three persons, who have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, Nazir Hussain and Nazir Ahmed.
A case under FIR Number 143/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Ravinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
