JAMMU, Sept 17: Police today detained three persons with huge cash and handed them over to Income Tax Department.
According to SP Rural Dushyant Sharma, a team from Manwal Police Post during checking intercepted a Maruti car No. JK01X-1452, which was on its way to Battal Morh from Srinagar.
During checking, police recovered Rs 9.48 lakh from the possession of three persons traveling in the car and detained them.
The SP informed that the detained persons have been identified as Bisharat, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Rena Bazaar Srinagar, Abdul, son of Wali Mohammad of Lal Bazaar Srinagar and Rehmetulla, son of Ghulam Mohammad Naik of Chanjalu of tehsil Banihal in Ramban district.
“The matter was taken up with the higher authorities and the trio were handed over to Income Tax Department for further action.
The whole operation was carried out by Incharge Manwal Police Post SI Kunal Singh under the supervision of SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ajay Singh, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
