JAMMU, Feb 25: Police in Jammu’s Akhnoor area claimed today that they have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered from their possession 8 grams of heroin-like-substance.
A police spokesperson said that the accused Avinash Kumar, Vishal Singh alias Joni, and Rakshit Sharma, all residents of Akhnoor, were arrested during routine checking of vehicles at Old Bridge, Akhnoor.
According to him, one of the drug peddlers, Vishal Singh alias Joni, is a habitual drug peddler.
Police have booked the accused in case FIR number 66/2023 under sections 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor and started further investigations.
Pertinently, the arrests and seizures were made by SHO Akhnoor Harjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma.
