3 injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Jan 11: Two persons were injured, one of them critically in two separate road mishaps that occurred at Bari Brahmana in Samba district and New Plot and Purkhoo areas of Jammu district.
According to a police spokesperson a 34-year old man identified as Shubhum Pandey (a mason by profession) and a resident of MP (at present Kartholi in Samba district) was hit by an unknown vehicle while crossing the National Highway at Kartholi near Bari Brahmana.
In the mishap, Shubhum suffered critical injuries particularly on his head and fell unconscious. On getting information, police acted swiftly and shifted the injured person to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, for treatment.
The condition of the injured youth was stated to be critical till the last reports came in. Meanwhile, the concerned police has registered a case in this concern and started investigations.
In another mishap that happened at New Plot area of Jammu, a woman identified as Fatima Bibi (45) wife of Ali Mohd, a resident of New Plot was injured after she was hit by an auto near Prem Sweet Shop in New Plot area. The injured woman is undergoing treatment at GMCH and her condition is stated to be stable. The Janipur police has taken cognizance of the matter.
A scooter rider was also injured tonight when a tipper hit his two-wheeler at Purkhoo area of city outskirts. The injured man identified as Jyoti Sharma (37) son of Dwarka Nath of Kanachak was rushed to GMCH for treatment, where he was responding well to the treatment being given to him when the last reports poured in.
