SRINAGAR, June 24: Three persons were killed and twelve others injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley today, police said.
A girl, Rutba Rafiq daughter of Mohammad Rafiq Dar of Khashipora, HMT Srinagar, was hit by a bus (JKE/8902) at Shahtulpora district Bandipora. She was killed on the spot, police said.
A tanker (JK02X/6747) turned upside down and fell in gorge near Paney Matha, Zojilla, resulting in on spot death of its driver Mohinder Singh son of Mohan Singh of Munasa, Jammu, police said.
An unidentified vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian Bilkeesa Akhter alias Nancy daughter of Ashour Gojri of Gujjer Mohalla, Khrew, at Khrew. She was shifted to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.
A motorcycle JK03/7738 driven by Aiyaz Ahmad Dar of Gopalpora hit and injured a pedestrian Zubaida Begum wife of Late Mohammad Iqbal Wani of New Qazibagh, Anantnag. She has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
A Maruti car JK04/6540 hit and injured a cyclist Muzafar Ahmad Najar son of Mohammad Ismail of Kach Razger, Khansahib at Bygroo Crossing, Budgam. The injured has been shifted to hospital for treatment.
A motorcycle JK01L/6094 driven by Faizan Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad Shah of Buchpora, Srinagar, turned turtle at Sonargund, Budgam, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist and two pillion riders. They have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
A mini-bus JK04A/7962 skidded off the road near Chewa, Budgam, resulting in injuries to one passenger Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad of Russo Beerwah. The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment, police said.
In a collision between a Tata Sumo JK03B/2953 and a Santro car JK01K/3637 at Charsoo, Awantipora, four persons were injured.
The injured traveling in the car were identified as Bisma Yousuf daughter of Mohammad Yousuf, Hafeeza wife of Mohammad Yousuf, Mohammad Yousuf Dar son of Habibullah of Athwajan, Srinagar and Aneesa daughter of Manzoor Ahmad of Frestabal, Pampore, police said.
The injured have been shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital, Srinagar, for treatment.
A Tipper JK01S/3640 hit a Motorcycle JK01S/4059 at Athwajan Bypass, Srinagar, resulting in injuries to two persons: Aadil Hussain Khan son of Abdul Ahad of Hardo Shora, Tangmarg and Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Sultan of Alamdar colony, Srinagar. Both the men were shifted to SMHS Srinagar for treatment, police said.
