JAMMU : Three of a family were killed and three others injured in a devastating fire which broke out mysteriously in Narwal area on city outskirts here.
Around 80 hutments also got completely perished in a mysterious inferno.
“A wild fire broke out during wee hours today in hutments in Narwal area of Trikuta Nagar here,” police here today said.
They said fire tenders were pressed into service while it took three to four hours to control the fire and douse the flames.
“It was a major fire and nearly 80 hutments (jhuggis) turned into ashes,” they said.
The three people who have died were refugees of Burma.Those got injured have been hospitalised.
“The reason behind the fire was not yet known but we are investigating the matter,” police added. (AGENCIES)
