3 killed in Ramban accident

RAMBAN, Nov 9: Three persons were killed and three others sustained injuries when a vehicle, they were traveling in, plunged into deep gorge along Maitra link road.
The ill-fated Tata 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK02AS-2523 was carrying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders for remote areas when some persons sought the help of driver to reach their destination. Accordingly, the driver allowed them to board the vehicle.
However, at Kanpeer the vehicle rolled down into gorge critically injuring all the six persons traveling in it. On getting information about the accident, police party rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All the critically injured occupants of the vehicle were brought out of the gorge and rushed to District Hospital Ramban where three of them were pronounced as brought dead. The remaining three passengers were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu after first-aid in District Hospital Ramban.
The deceased have been identified as Mohd Asgar, son of Ghulam Ahmed of Kanga, Ramban, Roop Chand, son of Santu of Peerah and Kaushalaya Devi, wife of Shamboo of Maitra.
The injured are Jeet Ram, son of Roop Chand of Peerah, Parshotam, son of Premu and Rinku, son of Daulat Chand, both the residents of Maitra.
