3 killed in Ring Road mishap

JAMMU, Aug 29: A heartbreaking road accident claimed the lives of three individuals, including a father and his son, on Ring Road in the Phallain Mandal area of Jammu city outskirts this evening. The accident occurred in the Suanjana area of Phallain Mandal when an unknown vehicle collided with a motorcycle carrying three passengers.

The victims were identified as Farid, aged 62, and his son Shakeel, aged 23. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The third individual, Mohd Latief, aged 47, who was also on the motorcycle, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Latief succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Following the accident, the bodies of the deceased were taken by their family members without undergoing postmortem, as the family expressed their opposition to the procedure. In response to the incident, the Satwari Police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law and have launched an investigation to locate the unknown vehicle responsible for the collision.
The authorities have urged anyone with information about the accident or the unidentified vehicle to come forward to assist with the investigation. This tragic incident has brought a deep sense of loss to the local community, and efforts are underway to address the circumstances surrounding the accident.
