3 lecturers among 17 placed under suspension

RAJOURI, Feb 21: Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri today paid surprise visit to the local Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) and several other offices including Chief Education Officer’s office today and placed at least 17 Government employees under suspension.
An official spokesman said that action was taken by the District Administration after receiving several public complaints that Government employees and especially the teachers and lecturers often remain absent from duty and there was no proper check on their activities. After this the DC Rajouri asked Additional Dy Commissioner Rajouri Matloob Khan to conduct inspection of the Government schools and other offices.
During surprise visit at Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri at around 11 am today, the ADC found nine staff members including three lecturers and four teachers/ masters un-authorisedly absent from duty. He placed all of them under suspension. They included Dr Shiraz Ahmed-lecturer, Meetu Bhat- lecturer, Nahida Rehman-lecturer, Kaleem Akhtar & Zule Khan Begum both master grade teachers, Parveen Akhtar (PTI), Rajni Chanda-teacher, Abdul Majid -Lab Asstt and orderly Maqbool Hussain.
Three employees were found absent from duty at CEO’s office at Rajouri and they were also placed under suspension. They are senior assistant- Raj Kumar, Naresh Kumar and Abdul Majid Class-IV employees. Three employees of ZEO offices suspended are- Accounts Assistant Roop Lal, senior assistant Ansuya and computer operator Anjali Gupta. Two employees were found absent in the office of Sheep Husbandry and the same action was taken against them. They are Zahoor Ahmed and Manohar Singh, both stock assistants.
