KATHUA, Feb 8: Three members of a family including an infant are feared to have been washed away by flash floods of a stream yesterday in Ludair area of Billawar tehsil.
According to reports Dev Raj, his wife Rita Devi and 11 month old child were on their way from their native village Sarla in Billawar bodering Ramnagar tehsil of district Udhampur were on their way to attend a marriage ceremony at village Ludair yesterday evening.
They had to cross a stream which is the tributary of river Ujh. As the stream was in spate due the heavy rains which lashed the area for last two days, the trio was drifted in the strong current of the water and are fared dead.
The police teams today swung into different areas to search the bodies but there was no clue. A pal of gloom has descended the village since last evening.
