PM to distribute 71,000 job letters today

JAMMU, Dec 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute 71,000 appointment letters at the ‘Rozgar Mela’ tomorrow at 45 locations across the country including three places in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh where an equal number of Ministers will join the function.

The fresh recruits who will get appointment letters have got jobs in the Ministry of Home Affairs including paramilitary forces, Department of Posts, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Department of Financial Services among others, official sources told the Excelsior.
While the Prime Minister will distribute the job letters virtually, the Union Ministers will give the orders physically at 45 locations in different States and Union Territories of the country.
Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh will moderate the Rozgar Mela from New Delhi.
Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram will distribute appointment letters in Leh while Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar will attend the function in Srinagar. Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Social Justice and Empowerment BL Verma will handover job letters to fresh recruits at Border Security Force (BSF) Headquarters at Paloura in Jammu.
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Brig (Retd) BD Mishra will accompany Oram in the function scheduled to be held at ITBP complex in Leh.
A total of 71,000 job letters will be distributed across the country through the `Rozgar Mela’ tomorrow. A number of appointments have been made in the paramilitary forces under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the sources said.
The Union Ministers will handover letters physically among the new appointees after virtual distribution of job letters by the Prime Minister. Modi will also address the recruits through virtual mode.
An official statement issued by the Government said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 71,000 appointment letters to newly appointed recruits on 23rd December at around 10:30 AM through video conferencing. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.
‘Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation. It will provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their participation in nation building and self empowerment,” the statement said.
