RAJOURI, Jan 31: Three minor girls of a family got electrocuted while two others received serious injuries during a mishap at Budhal in district Rajouri this morning.
Police sources said that mishap took place when Mohd Farooq had dipped an electric boiler in a metallic container (Drami) in a room for bathing purpose.
His 4-year-old daughter Ashima unaware of the danger moved to get water and got trapped. She cried for help and her 11 years and 6 year old sisters rushed for help and they also got trapped in electric current. The water container was turned down during the process. Their parents Farooq and Dil Firoze tried to save but they too, received burn injuries due to electric shocks.
The injured were removed to local hospital at Budhal and then referred to District Hospital Rajouri, where minor Ashima was declared as dead.
Her 11-year old sister Uzma succumbed to injuries while being shifted to Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Jammu. Their parents and 6-year-old Ashna were also referred to GMCH, where Ashna failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to her injuries.
Police has taken cognizance of the matter.
