3 narco smugglers arrested; heroin seized

UDHAMPUR, Jan 7: In two separate cases, Police arrested three narcotics smugglers under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehambal and seized more than 13 grams of heroin like substance from their possession.
Police team from Police Station Rehambal, led by SHO Nishat Sumbria, recovered 6.1 grams of heroin like substance from a vehicle (Bolero Car) bearing registration number JK14E-1182, which was on its way from Jammu towards Udhampur.
Driver of the car and his associate were arrested on the spot. They were identified as Nikhil Sharma alias Nipun, son of Mohinder Kumar of Jakhani, Udhampur and Charanjeet Singh alias Monu, son of Kuldeep Singh of Sangoor, Udhampur.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 04/2024 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Rehambal and the investigation is going on.
In another success, a Police team of PP Tikri, led by IC PP Manveer Singh, while conducting routine vehicle checking at Bansa Morh naka point, apprehended one person namely Rajrupinder Singh, son of Harbajan Singh of Jhib Enclave Garhi Cantt, Udhampur. Coming from Katra side towards Tikri on foot, the accused was carrying 7.38 grams of heroin like contraband substance.
A case vide FIR No. 03/2025 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at P/S Rehambal and further investigation was set into motion.
