3 narco-smugglers held with 1 kg charas

RAMBAN, Oct 15: Police here today arrested three narcotic smugglers from Zalus Gool area and recovered approximately 1 kg cannabis like substance from their possession.
Under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma, special team was constituted which was led by SHO Police Station Gool, Inspector Firdous Ahmed assisted by PSI Waqar Beigh and ASI Mukhtiyar Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Gool Nihar Ranjan.
During thorough checking of vehicles at Zalus Gool the naka and patrolling party headed by ASI Mukhtiyar Ahmed checked a Maruti car bearing Registration Number JK02AP 3243 and recovered 25 grams Charas from the possession of Gulzar Ahmed Mir, son of Mohd Abdullah, resident of Salbala Gool.
In this regard a case in FIR no. 120/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered and the accused was arrested.
Meanwhile, on reliable information a case in FIR no. 121/2023 U/S 8/20/29 was registered against Mohd Saleem, son of Abdul Rashid Shan, resident of Gool and his wife Zareefa Begum.
The Police team along with EMIC Ind searched the house of Mohd Saleem, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Gool and recovered approximately 1420 gm Charas along with packing.
Both the accused were arrested and an investigation was underway to unearth the nexus.
All the three accused were in police custody.
