UDHAMPUR, Aug 7: Continuing its drive, Police Station Udhampur today apprehended three narcotics smugglers and seized 60 kg of poppy straw from their possession.
The poppy straw was being smuggled in a truck, bearing registration number PB13V- 6046, which was intercepted for checking at Jakhani Naka, National Highway, Udhampur.
Police seized the poppy straw and arrested the truck driver as well as his two associates, who were identified as Sukhpreet Singh, son of Sarvan Singh of Mohi, Mullanpur, Ludhiana, Jagdev Singh son of Kuldeep Singh of Ludhiana, Punjab and Jagroop Singh son of Jagir Singh of village Mansoran, Tehsil & District Ludhiana, Punjab.
A case FIR Number 410/2020, under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
