SRINAGAR, Mar 23 : Three members of a family from Mumbai were among four people who died and 21 others were injured in a road accident in Ganderbal this morning.
The accident occurred near a CRPF camp at Gund when a passenger bus and an Etios vehicle collided head-on, leaving at least two dozen people injured. The Etios car, which was carrying tourists, suffered severe damage, resulting in the death of four occupants, including the driver.
The deceased have been identified as Hetal Ashish Pari, Nikki Ashish, and Leisha Ashish, all residents of Satya Nagar, Borivali West, Mumbai. The fourth victim was the driver of the vehicle, Faheem Ahmad Badyari of Soiteng, Srinagar.

Following the accident, locals and rescue teams rushed to the spot, shifting the injured to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for urgent medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over the tragic road accident in Gund area of Ganderbal.
In a condolence message, the Lieutenant Governor said: “I am deeply saddened to learn about the loss of precious lives in a tragic road accident in Ganderbal today. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Praying for the early recovery of the injured”.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has also expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
“Deeply saddened by the tragic road accident on highway near Gund, Kangan, which has claimed several lives and left many others injured. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Praying for the swift recovery of the injured. Authorities are providing all possible assistance,” office of the Chief Minister said on X.
