3 peddlers arrested with 1.83 kg charas

SRINAGAR, Apr 14: Police today arrested three drug peddlers in Sopore and Shopian, recovering contraband substances from their possession.
Authorities stated that a police party from Police Station Tarzoo, apprehended two individuals at a checkpoint established at Nageen Bagh Krankshivan Colony Sopore.
During the search, police said, 143 grams of a charas-like substance was recovered from their possession.
They have been identified as Ghulam Hassan Dar, son of Ghulam Mohiudin Dar, resident of Mohalla Telyan Sopore, and Ghulam Qadir Malik, son of Ghulam Nabi Malik, resident of Alamdar Colony Tahab Pulwama.
In Shopian, authorities reported that a police party from Police Post Wachi, during naka checking at Wachi market, intercepted a suspicious person who attempted to flee but was tactfully apprehended.
“During the search, 1.7 kg of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Abdul Hameed Mir, son of Gh Nabi Mir, resident of Darbagh,” police said.
All three accused have been arrested and shifted to their respective police stations.
