JAMMU, Sept 22: The election process for State BJP will start from October 1. This was stated by Party’s State Electoral Officer, Harinder Gupta while addressing a meeting which was held to finalise the arrangements for the same.
He said organizational elections in the State will be held in three phases. While in first phase, election to the basic polling booth units will be held. Thereafter, mandal and district level elections will be followed. The three phase elections will culminate on the election of the State President.
Addressing the meeting general secretary of the party (organization) Ashok Koul said BJP will focus on including those people as party members who are clear with party’s stand on various issues and are ideologically committed.
“We have to focus on such people in the party who are committed to the ideology with clear knowledge of the party’s stand on different issues confronting the State of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mr Koul added.
The meeting was organised to finalise arrangements for upcoming organisational elections in party’s State unit.
Addressing the meeting State president Shamsher Singh Manhas said organisational elections are held every three years to strengthen party’s democratic structure.
BJP National Executive Member and chief spokesperson of the State Dr. Jitendra Singh, Bali Bhagat, Col (retd) Uttam Singh, Som Raj Khajuria, Chander Mohan Sharma, Sat Sharma (CA), Yudhvir Sethi, Rajiv Jasrotia, Balbir Ram and Munish Sharma attended this meeting.
