3 school girls hit by speeding vehicles, serious

RAJOURI, Nov 19: Three school girls were critically injured in an accident involving two unidentified over-speeding vehicles on the busy road in Saj area of Thannamandi today morning.
The victims, identified as Shaista Choudhary, age 12 years; Norain Kousar , daughter of Mohd Bashir, age 13 years and Shagufta Choudhary , age 10 years, residents of Nerojal village in Thanamandi were hit by unknown over speeding vehicles while walking on the roadside
All the three, sustained serious injuries, with one of the girls reported to be in critical condition. She was immediately shifted to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment, while the other two are receiving care at GMC Rajouri.
The tragic accident has left the local community in shock, sparking widespread concerns about reckless driving in the area. The authorities have assured the public that an investigation is underway to identify the vehicles involved in accident.
Local residents have urged the administration to ensure strict measures to control over speeding on public roads to prevent such incidents in the future.
Principal of Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri, Prof (Dr) A S Bhatia, visited the ward where these injured students were admitted to supervise the treatment. Dr Shamim Ahmed, Medical Superintendent told that one of the injured girl namely, Shagufta has been referred to GMC Jammu for further treatment.
