MENDHAR, Mar 27: Three shops were burgled by some unknown thieves in the main bazaar the town here last night.
Reports said some burglars broke opened the shops of Irfan Shah, son of Zaffar Hussain of Sangala, Jameel Hussain, son of Mohd Hafeez of Gohlad and Nazir Ahmed, son of Noor Hussain of Gursai. While two were Karyana shops and third one pertained to electronic goods. The thieves decamped with cash and many items from the shops.
The traders came to know about the incident in the morning and lodged their strong protest with the SDPO concerned. They claimed that despite night patrolling in the main bazaar by local police these thefts have taken place. They demanded that inquiry be conducted into the matter and action be taken against the cops who were on night patrol in the area. They said on several occasions earlier such thefts took place but not even a single case has been solved. The SDPO assured the agitating traders to solve these theft cases shortly.
