3 shops raided, 7 arrested for consuming liquor

JAMMU, Nov 19: Police today raided three shops and arrested their owners along with customers for open consumption of liquor in the shops at Nanak Nagar, Satwari and Sanjay Nagar under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
The shops raided by the police included Kwality Fish corner, Shivaji Chowk, Nanak Nagar, Bali Da Dhaba at Satwari and Bobby Non Veg Corner at Sanjay Nagar. Their owners Lalit Chouhan, Raj Kumar and Sanjay Kumar respectively were arrested during raided conducted by police at their shops.
The customers, who were consuming liquor in the shops were also arrested. They have been identified as Chering Dorjey, Sunil Singh, Gurjeet Singh and Rajinder Singh.
Police said a case has been registered against all seven accused including three shopkeepers at Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
Police parties in the raid were led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Police Station Inspector Gurmeet Singh.
