REASI, Jan 23: Police has recovered four minor girls, including three sisters, who were lured by a street hawker from Uttar Pradesh, presently putting up at Jammu.
The girls were recovered from Bagh-e-Bahu area and two of them were allegedly raped by the accused, identified as Talib Ansari son of Shamim Ahmed of Nawla Muzaffar Nagar UP, at present Nai Basti Satwari Jammu..
Police has arrested the accused while the girls have been restored to their families after getting their medical examination conducted.
According to Police, a complaint was lodged yesterday by mother of three daughters, according to which the minor girls had left home along with another girl, who was also minor.
Keeping in view sensitivity of the matter, a Police team from P/S Reasi, led by SHO, Inspector Jasbir Singh, was dispatched towards Jammu to trace the girls. Further assistance from SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta was also sought by SSP Reasi Tahir Sajad Bhat, after which a joint team after putting in hectic efforts traced out the girls from jurisdictions of Bag-e-Bahu Police Station.
In this context, case FIRs No. 20/2018 U/S 363/RPC and FIR No.21/2018 U/S 363/RPC were already registered at P/S Reasi. Further investigation of the cases is in progress under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs. Reasi Nikhil Gogna.
