JAMMU, Jan 1: Three Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), as many Superintendents of Police (SPs), one Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) officer are among the 423 officers and officials who have been awarded the DGP’s Commendation Medal and Certificate for their exemplary service during the preceding year (2024).

Among other awardees of the DGP’s Commendation Medal and Certificate include an Additional SP, one Executive Engineer, 26 DySPs, three CPOs, two senior POs, 66 Inspector ranked officers, 16 Sub-Inspectors (SIs), one Probationer Sub-Inspector (PSI), 59 Additional Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), 72 Head Constables (HCs), 122 Selection grade Constables (SgCTs), 31 Constables, 1 PWA, and 15 Followers.
The three SSPs who have been awarded are Sahil Sarangal, Virinder Singh Manhas, and Amarjit Singh while the awardee SPs are Noor-Ul-Hassan, Pardeep Kumar and Altaf Hussain, and the only Additional SP awardee is Zafar Iqbal Nawaz.
The only JKAS officer receiving the honour was Naila Zahoor Chib. Executive Engineer Neeraj Gupta, CPOs Aijaz Ahmad Wani, Jitender Kumar Anand, Pankaj Sethi and Senior POs Farooq Ahmad and Munish Kumar were the other awarded officers.
Those DySPs who have been awarded are Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Ashish Gupta, Javaid Iqbal Tabassam, Viquar Younus, Shammi Kumar, Ishan Gupta, Sumit Kumar Sharma, Dheeraj Kumar, Raman Kumar, Javid Iqbal Attar, Mohammad Suleman Chechi, Farooq Ahmed, Mohammad Azeem, Showkat Ahmad, Showkat Abdullah, Kulwant Singh, Neeraj Kumar, Neeraj Sarna, Champa Devi Sharma, Kirpal Singh, Vijai Singh, Sartaj Ahmad, Kuldeep Raj, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Rishi Singh, and Farah Nishat.
The awarded Inspector ranked officers are Reyaz Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Nabi, Salinder Singh, Kuldeep Raj, Mohammad Maqbool Shah, Rajinder Kour, Mahesh Kumar, Reena Devi Bhau, Ries Azam Qureshi, Azad Ahmad Dar, Bashir Ahmad, Mohammad Iqbal Najar, Rajesh Kumar Goutam, Ajit Singh Sassan, Mohammad Latief Shah, Syed Shabbir Hussain Chasti, Anil Sharma, Kanwal Raina, Shujat Ahmad, Neeraj Bhagat, Niaz Ahmad, Surinder Pal Singh, Mohammad Tufail, Yog Raj and Sushil Sharma.

Sheikh Waqeel Ahmad, Nasser Mehmood Naik, Abdul Majid Bhat, Arshid Hussain, Tajinder Singh, Sarfaraz Mohi-Ud-Din, Sofi Javaid Ashraf, Rohit Kotwal, Birbhan Singh Charak are the other Inspectors who were awarded the DGP’s Commendation Medal and Certificate.
Among the 16 awardee SIs were Ramesh Singh, Mushtaq Ahmad, Shakil Singh, Gh Hassan Mir, Kaleemullah, Ranjeet Singh, Karan Dev Singh, Musuam Ali, Mohammad Afzal Koul, Mumtaz Ahmad, Gopal Singh, Ashiq Hussain, Peer Ashiq Irfan, Ashiq Hussain Mir, Sanjay Kumar, and Niyaz Ahmad Rahim Shah. The only PSI who was received the honour was Abdul Star.

Meanwhile, the followers receiving the prestigious honour were Rattan Chand, Lekh Raj, Ashiq Hussain, Raj Kumar, Zulafkar Ali, Dil Mohammad, Kali Dass, Darshan Kumar, Ghulam Mohmad, Mushtaq Ahmad, Rakesh Kumar, Faqir Chand, Udham Singh, Tariq Ahmad, and Mohammad Yousuf. The only PWA receiving the honour was Tanvir Ahmad.
