JAMMU, Feb 6: Kanachack Police arrested three thieves along with stolen property worth several lakhs.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Sikander Dass, son of Shukar Dass of Kalyanpur tehsil Marh district Jammu with Police Station Kanachack stating that during the intervening night of January 16 and 17 this year, some burglars broke the lock of his shop and decamped with motorcycles spare parts and other accessories.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 8/2021 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Kanachak and investigation started.
Meanwhile, on January 25 this year, another complaint was lodged by Amitab, son of Raj Kumar of Gurha Singhu tehsil Marh district Jammu with Police Station Kanachack stating that during the intervening night of January 24 and 25, some burglars broke the lock of his shop located at Shamachak and decamped with mobiles phones along with other mobile accessories.
In this regard, a case under FIR Number 14/2021 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Kanachack and hunt was launched to nab the thieves.
To work out the theft cases, special teams of Police Station Kanachack were constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
However, a team led by SHO Kanachack Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh rounded up many suspects and with the help of CCTV footage along with technical assistance, finally arrested three burglars involved in the aforesaid cases.
The arrested persons were identified as Ritik Kumar alias Niti, son of Yash Paul of Dub-Ditta tehsil Marh district Jammu, Vishal Kumar, son of Gharu Ram of Bachyal tehsil Marh district Jammu and Goutam Kumar alias Dugga, son of Bachan Lal of Kanachack.
On their disclosure, stolen items such as mobile phones, mobile accessories, earphones, Bluetooth, motorcycle spare parts, etc worth over 5 lakhs were recovered.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
