POONCH, Apr 15: The police foiled smuggling bid and seized three vehicles loaded with 39 bovine animals in Surankote area of Poonch district today.
Official sources said that police teams headed by DySP Surankote, Tanveer Jeelani, SHO Surankote Rajveer Singh and I/C PP Behramgalla Rajat Nanawat, during nakas at Behramgalla on Mughla Road arrested three bovine smugglers and seized three vehicles bearing Registration . Nos JK21- 6833, JK02CE- 6235, JK12 B- 3974 which were on the way towards Kashmir.
A total 39 bovine animals were seized during checking. They were tied and mercilessly packed in the vehicles. The cattle were rescued by police teams.
In this connection case FIRs No. 65/2023, 66/2023, 67/2023 u/s 188/IPC/11PC Act have been registered at Police Station Surankote and investigation taken up.
