DODA, May 16: Foiling a major attempt of bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police today rescued thirty animals from the clutches of smugglers.
Police team headed by ASI Abdul Kabir from Police Station Thanamandi was on routine patrolling when they spotted some smugglers moving on foot alongwith bovines. Police intercepted the smugglers in the area between Mangota and Alal.
A total of thirty bovines were rescued while three smugglers namely Abdul Aziz, son of Ilam Din, Mohd Sikander, son of Abdul Aziz and Jamal Din son of Abdul Majid, all residents of Kalakote Rajouri, were arrested.
A case under relevant sections has been registered in police station Thanamandi.
