JAMMU, Apr 30: Thirty days skill development specialized establishment course commenced today at CTC Sunjwan with welcome address/delivering of lecture to ’22’ trainees by R.C. Mannotra- Principal CTC Sunjwan/Commandant IRP-14th Bn Channi Himmat, Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, he stated that the main objective of the course is to increase the skill/knowledge of Police Personnel of Armed Police and familiarized them with Police Manual, Service Rules, Maintenance of various registers of Armed Police, files of establishment sections, Practical work, procedure, discipline, Urdu reading, writing and other assignments entrusted. Adding further Mannotra said almost any type of work experience can help you develop the skills needed to be an effective community policing officer. Whether it’s serving as an intern, working in retail, or doing clerical work, your ability to interact with others, think on your feet, and prioritize work will help you in policing.
Work experiences in your community will help you better understand the dynamics of the community you may serve and improve your ability to show courtesy and respect to others in the work setting. Maintaining that sound mind resides in a sound body, he said the general job description of a police patrol officer is to enforce laws and ordinances, for the protection of life and property in their assigned area.
Police officers receive assignments for the protection of a particular area, conducting investigations, and apprehending criminals. A law enforcement degree combined with training at a police academy will prepare you for the job. Police officers may also carry out more specialized tasks depending on their unique skills and knowledge. They must respond to calls for assistance from the dispatcher or as a result of directly observed crimes or public safety scenarios. The situations a police officer may encounter are unpredictable and require a great deal of physical and psychological stamina.
