30 J&K towns covered under RAPDRP: Deputy CM Nirmal Singh

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir government today said 30 towns, including Leh, were covered under the centrally-sponsored Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (RAPDRP) which aims to strengthen the power distribution system.
“Thirty towns in J&K, including the town of Leh, are covered under Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (RAPDRP) scheme,” Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh said in a written reply to the question of Congress MLA Nawang Rigzin Jora in the Legislative Assembly.
He also said that the Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping of eight feeders of Leh stood 100 per cent completed.
Hardware items, namely 10 desktop computers with printers, have been delivered to Leh Circle for IT implementation and integration of Leh town with Data Centre, Srinagar, the Deputy CM added.
So far Rs 6.68 lakh has been spent for developing power infrastructure in Leh town, he said. (AGENCIES)
