SRINAGAR, Mar 14: Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of J&K Police today arrested an inter-state smuggler and recovered 30 kg of hashish from his possession.
“Acting on specific inputs, a team of ANTF assisted by Kulgam police intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AB-6744 on National Highway near Mir Bazar, Kulgam and recovered about 30 kg of hashish from the vehicle,” said SP ANTF Vinay Sharma.
The officer said the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Suresh Kumar son of Mir Chand of Achar (Doda) was arrested on the spot and the consignment of drugs being transported by him outside J&K, were seized.
“An FIR under relevant Sections of NDPS Act has been lodged in the matter and further investigation going on regarding forward and backward linkages of this inter-state racket,” the SP added.
