REASI, Oct 13: Continuing enforcement drive against cement manufacturer/suppliers/dealers, Legal Metrology Department today seized 300 bags of cement for violation of labeling norms.
A team of Legal Metrology Department Reasi, headed by the Assistant Controller, LMD Kuldeep Raj, Inspector Vicky Sharma and officials, seized the truck bearing Reg No. JK08A-7491 from Kharalair area of tehsil Pouni.
The truck was loaded with 300 bags of cement brand names Star Ultra and Pnuetech. The cement bags were seized for violation of lebeling norms which are mandatory under Packaged Commodity Rule. All the cement bags were found with out packing date and most of them were under weight against marked net wt 50 kg.
The manufacturer/suppliers were directed to attend the office of the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Reasi for further legal action.
