SRINAGAR, Dec 16: Inspector General of Border Security Forces (BSF), Ashok Yadav, today said that around 300 militants are waiting on launch pads in Pakistan to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir.

“As per intelligence, there are 250-300 militants present on the launching pads waiting to infiltrate, but the forces are alert, and every such attempt will be thwarted; before as well, whenever such attempts have been made, they have been foiled,” the IG BSF told reporters in Pulwama.
Yadav said the brave jawans of the BSF and Army were alert in the border areas and would foil any infiltration attempts. “We are confident of foiling any infiltration bid,” he added.
He said the connection between the security forces and the people of Kashmir has increased over the last few years. “If people cooperate with us, we can take developmental activities forward in a better way,” he added.
Regarding the event-a series of events for the benefit of poor villagers in remote areas at Malangpora in association with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malangpora-he mentioned that the BSF has been working to provide different skills to youth and women to make them financially independent.
He also inaugurated the skill development programs on Basic Computer Course and Customer Relationship Management Course and handed over 15 computers sponsored by ICICI Bank under Corporate Social Responsibility to the Principals of Malangpora and Padgampora school.
With the aim of bringing the best doctors to the doorsteps of marginalized villagers, a free Medical Camp was also inaugurated by Yadav. In addition, BSF organized a Recruitment Rally cum Awareness program to prepare youth for forthcoming employment opportunities in BSF and other armed forces.
Dr. Nazir Ahmed Ganai, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST, also attended the event along with other senior officers of different departments of the Government of India and Jammu and Kashmir administration.
“Around 3000 people from the community, including students, women and girls, teachers and farmers from nearby villages, enthusiastically participated in the program,” a BSF PRO said in a statement, adding that the program ended with a vibrant, colorful cultural program presented by the students of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malangpora and Padgampora school and troops of BSF.
The entire program by BSF earned wide appreciation and accolades from youth and villagers of nearby villages, who requested organizing more such programs for the benefit of marginalized youth, elderly, women and girls.
