POONCH, July 29: It may sound amazing but true that a disputed road stretch, measuring only 300 mts in Bhera area of Mendhar Sub Division has been constructed under a special operation carried out by the Tehsil administration of Mendhar after a lapse of eight years.
Official sources said that a road under PMGSY from Ari Tala Kasi to Bhera having a length of 4 kms was started during 2011 after survey by the department of PMGSY. Some influential people opposed the survey for the construction of the said road stretch.
The District Administration constituted a team under the direct supervision of of SDM Mendhar, Dr Sahil Jandyal and assisted by Tehsildar Dr Vikram Kumar, SDPO Neeraj Padyar, Naib Tehasildar Mohd Afzal , AEE R&B Zahir Khan of Sub Division Mendhar. They carried out operation today by using JCB and cleared the 300 mt road stretch at Ari Tala Kassi under a heavy deployment Police personnel to keep the people opposing the construction of rod at bay.
While lauding the local administration, Mendhar Youth Club chairman Nadeem Hussain Khan said that eight year old dispute now ultimately stand settled.
