Over 300 shops provided to vegetable vendors

Srinagar, May 28: In order to remove congestions from roads and busy squares of the Srinagar City, the Government today said Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) is contemplating various steps for the convenience of consumers and vendors of the Maharaja Bazar and has provided 313 shops to vegetable vendors here.
In written reply to a question of MLA (nominated) Anjum Fazli, Minister Incharge, Housing and Urban Development Department and Deputy Chief Minister, said SMC has provided 313 shops to vegetable vendors of Iqbal Park.
“The Corporation is in process of removing these vendors from busy streets and simultaneously providing vending space to vendors in Sector 5 and Sector 6 at Batamaloo, Srinagar, so that they can sell their articles and goods without any obstacle,” he added.
