REASI, Jan 20: Teams of District Police Reasi today foiled three separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 31 bovines.
While sharing details, SSP Reasi Amit Gupta said that a team of Police Post Bhambla laid a surprise naka near Bhambla and intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing Registration number JK02BK-0804, in which eight bovines were founded loaded for smuggling purpose.
Police rescued all the bovines and arrested driver as well as his accomplice, who were identified as Mohd Junaid, son of Abdul Rehman and Mohd Latief, son of Mohd Ismail, both residents of Prat, Tehsil Sunderbani, District Rajouri. In this regards, a case FIR has been registered at Police Station Pouni.
In another success, team of Police Post Dera Baba intercepted a vehicle (Camper) without bearing registration number plate at Chappanoo and rescued 13 bovines. Taking advantage of darkness, driver of the vehicle managed to escape leaving the vehicle on roads. In this regards, a case FIR has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
Another attempt of bovine smuggling was foiled when a team of Police Post Kakryal intercepted a truck (JK14H-5649) at Moori, Katra area. Ten bovines were rescued from the truck while the driver could not be nabbed as he fled away taking the benefit of darkness.
A case FIR has been registered in this regard at Police Station Katra.
