33 bovine animals rescued

JAMMU, June 14: Police foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling in twin districts of Reasi-Udhampur and rescued 33 numbers of cattle besides arresting the accused persons.
Mahore Police rescued 27 number of bovine animals from Arital area of Gulabgarh and arrested two accused persons, identified as Mohd Rafiq son of Ghulam Noorani and Mohd Mansha son of Iman Ullah, both the residents of Chana Tehsil Chassana, Distt Reasi.
In this regard, a case FIR number 36/2020, under section 188 IPC has been stands registered and further investigation is going on. The arrest was made by SHO Mahore Insp Rattan Singh.
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police also foiled a bovine smuggling attempt by intercepting a Tata Mobile vehicle (JK14D-8184) at Sangoor. Six cattle were loaded in the vehicle. Police rescued the animals and arrested the vehicle driver, namely Zakir Hussain, son of Mohd Amin of Jammu.
A case under relevant section has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
