33 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Feb 25: Foiling two attempts of bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police rescued 33 bovine animals and arrested the accused smugglers.
19 bovine animals were rescued from a truck at Naka point Motorshed on National Highway in Chenani while 14 bovine animals were rescued at Tikri.
According to the reports, a Police team led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Anil Kumar Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO Tahir Amin Sheikh, intercepted a Truck bearing Registration Numbers JK19A-7806, which was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar.
During a thorough search, 19 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle in a very cruel manner. The accused truck driver namely, Mohd Yousaf son of Kazar Mohd of Dhanad was arrested on the spot.
All bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was also seized. In this regard, case under the section 188 IPC 11 PC Act has been registered in Police Station Chenani.
Meanwhile, 14 bovine animals were rescued from another truck bearing registration number JK08A 9217, which was intercepted at Tikri Naka point.
Accused driver namely Sewa Singh, son of Gowher Singh of Goddi, Doda, was arrested on the spot. In this regard, case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Rehambal.
