JAMMU, May 24: Nagrota Police has foiled three bovine smuggling bids by rescued 33 bovine animals and arresting five accused.
“The bovines loaded in three vehicles bearing registration numbers JKO2AA-5425, JK02AG-5095 and HP38G-6021 were rescued by teams of Police Station Nagrota during naka checking at Ban Toll Plaza,” a police spokesman said.
He said three separate cases vide FIR numbers 228/2022, 229/2022 and 220/2022 were registered in this connection at Police Station Nagrota and five accused identified as Mohinder Pal Singh son of Madan Singh of Simbal Camp (Miran Sahib Jammu) and his associate Bashir Ahmed son of Mohd Qasam of Nikki Tawi Jammu, Arif son of Yaqoob of Saharanpur (UP) and Darshan Lal son of Cheman lal of Tanda (Hoshiyarpur Punjab) and his associate Umer Khan son of Farooq Ahmed of Kokernag (at present living at Narwal Jammu), were arrested.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made by SHO Police Station Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh assisted by ASI Janak Raj.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
